What is AutoCAD LT?
Autocad Lt 2008 is the 2D design and drafting software used by design professionals who require full DWG file format compatibility but do not require 3D or need to customize their software through automation.

Key differences between LT and AutoCAD Full version 2007?

Both versions use the same software architecture and technology, and both create the same native DWG file format and the new DWF file format. But AutoCAD full provides additional capabilities in the following key areas:
3D functionality
Sheet set management
Dynamic block authoring
Customization (LISP, ARX, VBA)
Presentation graphics
CAD standards management
Network licensing

Has the LT 2007 drawing file (DWG) changed from LT 2006, as it did between LT 2002 and LT 2004?
No, the new features and functionality developed in LT 2007 maintain DWG and DXF file compatibility between the LT 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007 software versions. You can directly and easily share files among different design teams using AutoCAD LT 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007.

Is Auto CAD LT 2007 interoperable with other Autodesk products? AutoCAD 2007 is the foundation for an interoperable family of Autodesk products. Sharing the same database framework component ObjectDBX for reading and writing drawing files—ensures that the next generation of Autodesk products is interoperable with Autocad Lt 2008. These products include 3ds max®, Autodesk® VIZ, Autodesk® DWF™ Composer, and Autodesk® DWF™ Viewer, as well as the industry-specific AutoCAD software-based products, including AutoCAD® Mechanical, AutoCAD® Electrical, Autodesk Map® 3D, Autodesk® Architectural Desktop, Autodesk® Land Desktop, and Autodesk® Civil Design.

Does 2007 LT use product activation for stand-alone licenses? Yes, with the release of Auto CAD LT 2005 the process formerly referred to as authorization was replaced by the more industry-standard product activation. V2007 will continue to use product activation. Installation support is support for installing software on your computer system using the installation process described in the product Getting Started manual. Troubleshooting of installation issues is also included. Configuration support is support for setting up peripheral devices to work with your Autodesk software. It includes support for setting product and system variables to make the best use of the product on your system.
